Post Rehab Conditioning Specialist

The Post Rehab Conditioning Specialist (PRCS) is for the fitness professional looking to offer conditioning to clients with medical conditions. This is an entry-level certification obtained through the Post Rehab Conditioning Specialist Track. The concepts and guidelines in this certification will prepare you to begin offering safe and effective exercise programs for clients with more than 30 medical conditions after discharge from physical therapy. If you want to get started in medical exercise training but its not your specialty, the PRCS program is for you.

What will I learn in the PRCS Track?
  • Develop post rehab services for over 20 medical conditions including diabetes; hypertension; lumbar disc herniation (back pain); osteoarthritis; shoulder impingement; total hip or total knee replacement and many others.
  • Perform a 12-point musculoskeletal screening on the post rehab client.
  • Understand the basic anatomy and pathology for the conditions found in the upper and lower extremity, spine and as well as other common medical conditions.
  • Understand the impact of exercise on common medical conditions.
  • Understand the role and scope of practice for the fitness professional when working with post rehab and medical exercise clients.
  • Identify red flags and warning signs that indicate the client is in need of evaluation or treatment from a licensed medical professional.

How do I complete the PRCS Track?
Here’s how it works – the PRCS Track consists of 33 lessons. Each lesson has an accompanying video, lesson guide and a lesson quiz.
Simple download each component of the lesson, review the lesson, complete the quiz, and submit your answers via email.
If you select the “Standard PRCS option, each week you will receive a new PRCS lesson.
If you opt for the Accelerated PRCS option you can download all 33 lessons immediately and later take the final PRCS exam.
The PRCS exam is included in your registration fee.
